It took 120 minutes, but Bellingham’s brace was the difference for England. Norway opened the scoring with a curled effort from winger Andreas Schjelderup. He drove by a defender before firing a shot goal-bound that spun over the head of Jordan Pickford and into the top corner.
England controversially equalized on the stroke of half-time. A goal kick from Norway seemingly struck the TV wire above Miami Stadium, as shown on broadcast replays. It should have resulted in a stoppage of play per FIFA rules, but two passes later, England scored with a delightful finish from Bellingham, who dribbled through four defenders and struck the ball goalbound while falling.
