One of the most magical places you can stay on Disney World property is the Contemporary Resort. 

This original hotel just screams Disney magic, and allows you to be either a monorail ride or walking distance to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. This hotel is fantastic; however, we have a word of warning to anyone staying there this week.

We just found out that this week, the Contemporary Resort will be having fire alarm testing.

On June 3rd and 4th between the hours of 12:30 and 3:30 PM, the fire alarms will be tested, resulting in strobe lighting and loud noises.

Thankfully, since the testing is happening in the middle of the day, the majority of guests will be away in the parks. However, if you’re planning a resort day or to stop by the Contemporary on a monorail resort crawl, be aware of this testing.

If you’ve got kiddos who nap during these times, you may want to try to avoid being at your hotel so this noise doesn’t bother them.

The access to the monorail is actually one of the biggest perks of staying at the Contemporary. Not only does it take you to both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but it also gives you easy access to two other resorts.

You can take a quick monorail ride over to both the Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort, where you can explore these beautiful resorts or even grab a bite to eat at one of their fantastic restaurants.

And a monorail crawl is not something that is only available to guests staying at those resorts. Anyone can catch a monorail and have a great time enjoying the atmosphere of any of these fantastic resorts.
