Vettaiyan Movie Review
Vettaiyan Movie Review: As far as Tamil cinema cops are concerned, they just cannot stop pulling the trigger. They always have been and in all likelihood always will be. So, a movie like Vettaiyan matters. When it comes to encounter killings, Tamil cinema and also even Indian cinema should take a step back in praising the bravado of police officers.
For far too long we must have the guns in the hands of cops—who are depicted strutting around with a pair of aviators, oozing swagger beyond measure, offing presumed assailants without even getting them their day or 15 minutes in our courts.
But with Vettaiyan, the glorification of a trigger-happy cop named Athiyan (Rajinikanth again) takes up far too much space before the transition happens to really register.
The proceedings begin with Judge Satyadev (Amitabh Bachchan), the moral compass of Vettaiyan, pointing out that there is no one called an encounter specialist for, words like hero are only meant kids under 5 years.
At the same time how Superintendent Athiyan is not willing to wait for the law to take its due course. His logic, that when the law is impotent extrajudicial actions are justified, is a common one we’ve heard in probably hundreds of movies and real-world events – Justice delayed is justice denied.
Conversely, the movie is likewise concerning exactly what Amitabh Bachchan claims, “Justice hurried is justice hidden under very same place”. Somewhere in the middle probably is a very confused movie.

Vettaiyan review and release updates
The movie basted on the inspiring life and heart wrenching death of govt. Dushara Vijayan plays the school teacher Saranya This results in a chain of events that goes into so many tangents which Gnanavel and Co.
find it too taxing for them to follow, yet demerit points need to be scored due to the scene involving the ghastly assault on Saranya. It gets vulgarly gory and Gnanavel ain’t doing us a favour let alone brings this scene to linger on our senses over n over again.
Vettaiyan has even bigger trouble when it comes to the red herrings scattered all over the movie. You can not just say and depict one thing, like being able to judge the characters and their actions (and until a certain point you must,), while expecting the audience to do otherwise.
Vettaiyan thus suffers critically on lack of coherence; and critical because Vettaiyan is a film that needed to be clear about its allegiance, its stance.
